Dr. Sara Caldwell grew up in Atlanta Georgia with her mom and step-dad, one brother and a house full of pets. She is the owner of the practice and its primary veterinarian. She always wanted to be a veterinarian since she was a little girl rehabilitating tiny birds that fell from their nest and putting pretend casts on her teddy bears. She is thoroughly fulfilled by relieving the suffering of animals and is honored to be able to do so as a livelihood. She enjoys horses, specifically dressage, although she has evented, foxhunted and played polo. Her favorite dog breeds tend to be brachycephalic (like pugs and bulldogs) but she has also owned and loved dachschunds, Danes, and heelers. She currently shares her home (and her heart!) with a pug, a Clyde cross horse, and her very sweet small child :)
We will happily give directions!

Katie Kralik, DVM
Dr. Katie Kralik grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska and graduated from the veterinary school at Iowa State
University in 2012. She started working in central Washington after graduation, then moved to Portland in May of 2015 with her dog and 2 cats. She and Boone (the pit bull) love to hike and ski, and she also enjoys biking, floating on water, reading, and good food.
Dr. Kralik is excited about her career every day, and loves that she gets to make the lives of animals and their people better.
Hailey has spent most of her life in the surrounding Portland area, and has had a love for animals since she got her first dog at the age of 3. She finished school in 2009, focusing on biology while volunteering at Multnomah County Animal Shelter. She found her first dog in Lousiana in spring of 2009 and by 2013, while living in Eagle Creek, had acquired two dogs, a rescued cat, a rescued goat, eight ducks, and four chickens. Hailey has had experience in dog training, conformation competition, grooming and has been a veterinary assistant since April 2013. She was trained by our very own Dr. Caldwell and now lives with 3 dogs in East Gresham and only continues to gain more love for animals and their well-being.
Megan was born in Virginia and moved around a lot due to her family’s military background. Her childhood years were spent mostly in southeast Alaska and then her family returned to Virginia for a brief year before settling in Oregon where she has been since 2001.
Megan has loved animals for as long as she could remember. She always knew a career in animal health was her calling. In high school she worked part time at an animal hospital before going away for college. She was certified as a groomer since 2008. After moving to Happy Valley she made the career change to a veterinary assistant at HVVH and absolutely loves it!
In September 2014 Megan married the love of her life, Mitchell. They just recently bought their first house and have a baby on the way in November 2015! They have two pets, a cat named LuLu and a dog named Ifrit. In their spare time they love to go hiking, beach trips, dog parks, etc.
Katie was born in Germany and spent most her childhood on the east coast. She is a total cat lady- ask her about her cats! She has three at home but is always looking for more to add to her collection. She’s been a veterinary receptionist for over 4 years and enjoys getting to know clients and their furry companions. In her spare time she likes hiking, reading, and cooking. She lives in Sandy with her boyfriend, cat hoard (Beavis, Brisby, and Vesuvius), and a sweet mini Aussie named Arya.
Ebony Van Kline
Ebony was born in Angeles City, Philippines and spent a large portion of her early life moving around due to her father’s military (Air Force) background. She graduated from The University of Nevada Las Vegas in 2013 with a Bachelor’s in Biology: Pre-Professional and moved to Oregon in late 2014.
Ebony has loved animals her entire life and knew that her career had to involve working with them. After spending some time volunteering, she was picked up by HVVH as a Tech Assistant and could not be happier gaining the lab and hands on experience that will further her career.
Currently, Ebony lives in Milwaukie with her boyfriend Justin, their two ferrets (Zoro and Korra) and corn snake (Zuko). She enjoys spending her free time reading, crocheting, cross stitching, watching Japanese anime and playing video games.
Abi was born and raised in Clackamas County. She has always loved animals, and her family frequently took in strays. At the young age of four, she realized she wanted to work with animals. She is currently enrolled in the Veterinary Technician program at Penn Foster and is looking forward to becoming a CVT. She has been married to her husband Randy for 3 years and has a bouncing baby boy who is now 18 months old. She is also Mom to 3 dogs, one cat and a horse. In her limited free time, she enjoys horseback riding, sewing and hiking.
Certified Veterinary Technician
Devin grew up in Longview, Washington. He started in the veterinary field in 1994 at the original Banfield Hospital. Since then he has worked for several different hospitals, always moving up and learning more, becoming a CVT in 2011. He has two boys, ages 10 and 9 and 1 rescue cat named Buns. In his spare time he likes to read, watch movies, and working with animals, of course.
Tosha grew up in Vancouver, Washington. She volunteered at a horse rehabilitation center when she was in high school. She also worked for a Kennel who shows and breed Lhasa Apso's for almost 12 years. She also worked for Petco as a groomer for 8 years. She loves animals and working with them - it’s always been her calling. She has two beautiful daughters and enjoys spending her free time with them.
Karissa is a Los Angeles girl, born and raised, who recently relocated to Oregon in February, 2015. Her entire life has revolved around rescuing animals in need. From cats and dogs, to goats and horses, Karissa always found herself giving her time to those in need. She now just owns her best friend of 13 years Loki, a German Shepherd mix and Ku, a rabbit she recently rescued here at the hospital. Being that her entire family has history in the equine business and rescuing all types of creatures, it was only a matter of time before she made her dreams become reality in the veterinary field. She has goals to expand her education and career into the large animal medical field, mainly with horses. In her spare time she loves to have quality time with Loki, volunteer whatever time she can at local barns, and explore Oregon's scenery.
Maggie has always had a very strong love for animals and always loved learning as much as she could about them. She still has a very strong drive and love to help and work with animals. Maggie and her husband share their home with three cats, Peter, Bug and, Lilly. She plans on continuing her school to become a vet tech in the spring. Her hobbies in her free time is working with youth and teaching youth about working with animals in 4-H.
